I loved these steps! They did wonders for me. My bf dumped me (via phone) just before Valentines day and after losing my dad. Its been rough but I've gained perspective and am hopeful for the future! :) Thanks cosmo!! xx

since our relationship was based purely on the fact of being "just friends" at the start but managed to develop further, we are each other's best and most trusted friend, the total disconnection is not really an option.. the steps mentioned presume that something major has happened to cause the break up, this is not the case for me, my ex-partner just was not ready to settle and i saw that, still hurts as much as the total rejection of a bad break up, if not more..

These steps are exactly what I needed to read. I am going though a really tough friendship break up of 7 years. I can't see beyond my own emotions right now but reading this article has put things into better perspective for me. Girls who are going though the same thing please remeber you can only change yourself, try be all you can be and never allow anyone to take your smile... All my love cosmo... Mwaaaaa... xx

I agree with all this and think they're very good steps but my question is what if you have done all the above and 3 years later you still haven't gotten over the person who broke your heart? Any advice would be appreciated as it feels like I will never get over this person and I've gone out with other guys since him but he is still the one in my heart....
