America's Next Top Model?

Not exactly...

What's not to love about America's Next Top Model? It's hilariously camp (Miss Jay - not to mention Tyra - has that covered), totally OTT dramatic (Tyra again, but mainly the meaner-than-mean-girls contestants) and so silly we sometimes feel guilty admitting that we like it.

But the one thing ANTM doesn't seem to do is produce the world's next top models. So far, not one winner has gone on to fame and fortune - despite Tyra's promises of becoming "America's next top model." So what are the winners doing now?

I think it becomes hard to win high fashion or even decent high street campaigns after viewers worldwide have seen your hissy fits, catfights and grotty, pre-make up face. These reality things probably happen at every modelling boot camp or contest but the whole world isn't privy to it therefore we can still associate beauty and glamour with a model from anywhere else but a reality show. Reality shows end up making alot of people looking cheap and over expose them in a bad way.   Report thisReport this

I agree its sad... but playboy offers 1 million for the shoot. the labels don't want them as reality tv stars cheapen their fashion house image. So eventuly some are gonna cave for the mula.  Report thisReport this

Alice Burdeu, season three winner of AUSTRALIA'S Next Top Model is really the only winner of any of the Top Model shows from around the world. She has walked for massive labels including LV, D&G, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Marchesa and many more, plus she's in the 2008/09 campaign for D&G.
