After learning that my high school stint at McDonald’s wouldn’t get me a job at a mag, I worked as a freelance journalist for a few years. With much haggling and many annoying phone calls, I got a job at Cosmo! As web ed, no two days are the same – some days I’ll be at a video or photo shoot, others I’m interviewing celebs or updating myself on the latest goss (all for research purposes, obviously).

Are you a diva (like me)?

For those who watch our video blogs, you might remember that a few months back, we featured this gem - a how-to guide from Online Divas Hollie Turner and Sara Hills*. (If you haven't watched it, make sure your boss isn't watching and catch it now!)

Online Divas (supported by PayPal) is kind of like a real-life Facebook for women who work online. Remember how, in the days before Facebook, we'd 'network' at parties and conferences and meetings like people in the olden days did? Well, Online Divas mixes real-world networking and online communication to help support women working online - particularly those who have just started out.

The gorgeous Hollie is now hosting her second Sydney event on Tuesday night, and lucky for you, tickets are still available. For the low, low price of $49, you'll get cocktails (!), canapes (!!) and fabulous advice from successful women (too many exclamation points). If you've ever thought about starting a web business or even writing a blog for moolah, this event is for you. For bookings, click here.

Oh, and if you do go on Tuesday night...you might recognise me. Come say hello!

* Note - Sara is no longer with the Online Divas.

Supeficial nonsense - do you honestly think real business women ascribe to this silliness? Act like nymphomaniac bimbos men like to play with, then whine about having nothing.

Hi Lauren, I was keen to sign up to become an "Online Diva" until I started hearing bad reports about Hollie's business practices. This article explains it all: http://www.australianwomenonline.com/online-diva-hollie-turner-on-the-run-from-creditors/comment-page-2/#comment-2934 I would be very wary about promoting Hollie or doing business with her, from the overwhelming reports. She has now left Australia and living in the states, leaving behind a trail of unhappy creditors.
