Gosh, bridesmaids really do get the raw end of the stick. In addition to the usual hideous dress drama, a new study by Slim Fast in the UK shows that one in three engaged British women would ask an overweight friend to be their bridesmaid...in order to make themselves look better.
Ouch.
Furthermore, twenty per cent of brides said they felt insecure standing next to slim guests, and half admitted they were dieting for the big day. What's more, a fifth of female wedding guests said they'd dieted before a wedding.
We say: ladies, lighten up (but not literally!)! Weddings are meant to be about fun, not fasting. Champagne and cake are there to be enjoyed - so enjoy them.
