Salons in the United States are now offering breast milk facials as part of their treatment range. For real.
After seeing mother’s blogging about the benefits of breast milk for skin conditions, Shama Patel, the founder of the spa Mud decided to offer a $40 breast milk substitute for all of her facials.
"I really wanted to come up with something that is quick, effective, that appealed to the urban city girl," Patel told FOX 32.
Apparently the antibacterial and antiseptic properties in breast milk work wonders for acne-prone and dry skin. Amazing news, to a degree.
Thankfully, you won’t find any nasty diseases like HIV or hepatitis in the bodily fluids at Mud as it’s locally sourced from Chicago mums and is of course medically screened before being massaged onto your face. PHEW!
Medically-screened or not though, we’re not convinced we’ll try this one.
