How to do the perfect date-night 'do

Okay friends from the information super highway, here's how you can recreate my date-night hair:

Get yourself a date. Or, Something To Do. I find that girlfriends appreciate good hair just as much, if not MORE, than male type date people. Cats and dogs are often complementary when it comes to good hair, too.

Centre part (the centre part here is important) your strands and let them COMPLETEY dry naturally, or blast with a hair dryer. Either way, hair must be totally dry.

Leave the back section out, clip the rest up. Use a straightener to create medium sized curls. Work from the back and do this in sections until you've done your whole head. A tong works here too but I find a straightener to be much faster and easier (you're going to ask me to teach you how to curl with a straightener, aren't you?)

Now you've got a head of large spiral curls, still with a centre part. This is pretty hair. Feel free to stop here. But if you want 'I'm going to see Stevie Wonder' hair, please, read on.

Using a paddle brush, brush the curls out. This breaks up the barrel and unifies the curl, much like a finger wave (but without the hassle). Give hair a good brush; this works air in between the strands, promoting volume.

Flick head violently to the side. Seriously. Be Willow Smith. This'll create the side part we want to end with, but it won't be too perfect (cause perfect is only for year 10 Formals as Epping RSL).

Here's a visual aid:

N.B - To educate you, we create the side part HERE as opposed to AT THE START because this promises lift at the roots and crown. If you want a volumous side part, ALWAYS style hair until dry in the centre, then pick a side. Starting with a side from damp will promote a slick and smooth look. Which is fine, if you're Jennifer Aniston.

Brush hair again. This tells the part to stay put and further unifies curls.

Optional extra: Spritz lightly with medium hold spray. I didn't cause I wanted soft and bouncy and my hair holds curls like its competing for the Curl Holding Gold Medal in the Hot Hair Olympics.

Compulsory extra: Finger-gun yourself in the mirror. You aced sexy date hair. And you look hot.

(P.S Enjoy your date. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.)
