Could botox improve your sex life?
Would you ever botox your bits? What if it could put the bang back into your sex life?
We've heard it all: labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, re-virgination and G-spot amplification are all procedures to help you get that "designer vagina" you've always wanted. And now you can add botox to the list.
However, rather than to smooth out your lady bits, botox could relieve chronic sexual conditions that make intercourse for some women almost impossible.
A plastic surgeon from the US is currently trialling the use of botox on women with severe cases of vaginismus; the uncontrollable contraction of vaginal muscles that results in some women being unable to have intercourse. Botox is said to relax the muscles in the vagina, decreasing muscle spasms and making penetration possible.
Normally vaginismus is treated with lengthy sessions of sex counselling, psychotherapy and medications, which can take years to show results. However, according to plastic surgeon, Dr. Peter T. Pacik, patients are put under general anaesthetic, the botox is then injected at the entrance of the vagina, and soon after the patients are able to enjoy sex - some of them for the first time.
So far 78 patients have been tested, and 77 of them have seen immediate results.
Well, we've done crazier things for sex (bedazzled vajajays anyone?).
