Well I never…

You guys, the future of beauty is HERE! Forget the new iPhone 7, we’re more interested in Panasonic’s new smart mirror.

According to Engadget, while the technology is still in its early stages, Panasonic have been experimenting with a prototype in Japan.

Basically, it works like this. First, you look in the mirror and wait while the mirror finds all your flaws – sorry, analyses your skin needs. Then, the printer creates a custom patch of foundation and concealer for your skin tone.

Once the patch has finally set, you press the sheet against your skin, spray it with water and gently smooth it out. Voila! At this stage, the formula is more of a temporary tattoo than an actual foundation.

A spokesperson for Panasonic said that they’re hoping to use the technology to cover scar tissue or even tattoos.

So, the smart mirror may not be 100% ready for commercial use just yet, but it is interesting to see where the beauty industry is heading. Does this mean we’ll all have perfectly matched makeup in the future? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
