A couple of weeks ago I blogged about finding my dream wedding dress – and it’s slightly nightmarish price tag.
When you get married, are you going to change your name? I’ve always said no. It’s not that my feminist principles won’t permit it; I actually just really like my name. I’m quite fond of its alliteration - and people in the office call me CC. If I adopt my husbands surname after we get married in December, will it render this affection nickname obsolete? And what about work? Any writer will stress to you the importance of their byline … would anyone recognise my writing if I were to suddenly change mine?
I went on my first wedding dress shopping expedition the other day with my Mum and sister (who’s one of my bridesmaids) in tow. Being Sydney, we had to make appointments so we scheduled two for the day – one morning and one afternoon – with lunch and a sneaky glass of champagne in between!
Apparently I am only just realising this. We finally found the perfect venue for our reception. Beachside, with a beautiful grassy knoll adjacent for the ceremony, which offered canapés and drinks on arrival and could accommodate a sit down dinner for 110 guests.
Step 1. Meet the love of your life and get him to propose to you. Tick! Step 2. Find the perfect venue for your wedding reception. Somewhere that says ‘this is who we are as a couple’, which is conveniently located in or close to an idyllic setting perfect for wedding photographs, which is flexible with the menu, will fit your desired number of guests and fits snugly within your budget.
For glamour. For style. For fun.
