Star quality

Make-up guru Napoleon Perdis waved his magic beauty wand over some of our favourite Aussie starlets last week for the inaugural Samsung AACTA Awards Ceremony at the Sydney Opera House. It was all glitz and glamour as the faces of the Australian film industry took to the red carpet. Our vote for the best make-up look went to the gorgeous Asher Keddie and the divine Miranda Kerr for best hairstyle.

To get Asher's make-up look, your base is important when recreating this look. Choose a light-wear mineral foundation and set with a mineral bronzer for a dewy finish. Use earthy tones that are close to your natural skin palette for your eyes, and line your top lids with a liquid liner followed by a sweep of lengthening mascara. Opt for a rose lip cream and work into the lip to create a stained finish, complete with a dab of clear gloss.

For Miranda's down 'do, prep your locks by using a heat-protecting spray and some volumising mousse after washing. Blowdry hair and pull to one side, using bobby pins that are close to your natural hair colour to hold in place. Use a thick curling wand to create soft curls with the hair you have pulled to one side. Finish with a light spritz of hairspray.
