Temple of groom

He may not be into choosing flowers or favours, but he CAN show up on the day looking devilishly handsome with these foolproof tips.

Best face forward
A splash of water in the shower is the extent of many a male's skincare routine. Unfortunately, this just won't cut it for the wedding day, especially when there are blackheads, random pimples, dry spots and an oily T-zone to eradicate. Arm him with a selection of these grooming products and
he'll be looking picture perfect in no time:
•    A quick scrub with Nivea For Men Deep Cleaning Face Wash, $7.99, in the shower will give pimple-causing grime and oils the boot.
•    Dry skin will lap up Olay Men Solutions Refreshing Energy Balancing Gel Moisturiser, $19.99, with its light consistency.
•    Dead skin cells are buffed away and pores are cleared out thanks to Dermalogica Daily Clean Scrub, $43, so it's hasta la vista to blackheads.
•    Puffiness and under-eye bags will be banished with a few dabs of Kiehl's Eye Alert, $36 (kiehls.com.au).

Close shave
These days, grooms don't necessarily have to be clean shaven, but stubble should be kept quite short and neat. It goes without saying that shaving rash, ingrown hairs and rough patches are a big-day no-no. Here, we've rounded up the best products for taming facial hair and keeping the surrounding skin smooth and kissable.
•    Protect from nicks with Gillette Fusion Hydra Gel Pure & Sensitive, $6.99, a fragrance-free shaving gel for sensitive types.
•    A dash of Origins For Men Fire Fighter, $43, available at Kit Cosmetics (kitcosmetics.com.au), patted on straight after shaving soothes irritation.
•    Shaving creams and foams are way quicker to apply using The Body Shop Shaving Brush, $17.99 - very Don Draper!
•    The vibrating Gillette Fusion Proglide Power, $16.99, gets right to the root of each hair for a smoother chin.

Hair and now
When it comes to guys and hair products, less is always more. Whether he's going for a tousled style or something a little more slick and Mad Men-esque, a pea-sized amount of product is all that's needed. It's best to not stray too far from his usual look as he should feel comfortable.
•    Discreetly cover sneaky greys with the help of Schwarzkopf Men Perfect Anti-Grey Toner Gel, $11.99. Leave it on for 10 minutes, rinse and go!
•    Add definition to a curly mop using American Crew Classic Curl Control, $29.95 (1800 104 204).
•    Give damaged hair a new lease on life using Fudge Dynamite Intense Repair, $18.95, which restores strength and shine.
•    The strong hold of Lock Stock & Barrel Grooming 85 Karats Grooming Clay, $25.50 (1300 908 146), will keep your dude's 'do in place.
