No more "going to the chapel"

Church

Romance may not be dead, but tradition could well be - just one in four Australians opt for a church wedding these days.

A study of 1500 people by Australian Marriage Celebrants shows that while 85 per cent of 1970s weddings took place in churches, just 35 per cent occur there in 2010.

Gardens are now the most popular ceremony locations (at 38 per cent), followed by the beach (20 per cent).
