NEWS: It's official - Heidi and Seal split
As much as we didn't want to believe it, a formal statement released by the couple confirmed rumours that their fairy tale marriage had come to an end.
'While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,' the joint statement read.
Seal appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday, surprisingly still wearing his wedding ring - and spoke nothing but kind words of Heidi:
'She still, in my opinion, is the most wonderful woman in the world. I think our priority was to remain civil and do this thing with dignity. We still very much love each other,' the 48-year-old singer said.
The power couple who married in 2005, have four children together - Henry, 6, Johan, 5, Lou, 2 and Leni, 7 - who is Heidi's eldest daughter from a previous relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.
They really were a golden couple, who were famous for renewing their vows every year on their wedding anniversary.
In response to Ellen's question as to why he was still wearing the wedding band he said, 'Just because we have decided to separate doesn't necessarily mean you take off your ring and you're no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways for the rest of our lives.'
He added, 'Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have no intentions of taking it off anytime soon.'
Still as nothing has been signed yet - we're hoping (and praying) all they need is a little time a part.
