The beef between Justin Bieber and The Weeknd just went to a new level after the "Starboy" singer appeared to diss his girlfriend Selena Gomez’s ex in a new song.
The Weeknd sings on up-and-coming Canadian rapper Nav’s new track “Some Way” – in fact he features in the song more than Nav does – and the lyrics are clearly a jab at Justin.
“I think your girl, think your girl, fell in love with me,” he sings. Then, it gets NSFW.
“She say my f*ck and my tongue game a remedy.”
WOAH. But wait, there’s more.
“I just took that chick, and I know you feelin' some way. She just want a n** like me, you feelin' some way.”
And it doesn’t even end there. When it’s Nav’s turn on the track, he makes reference to Justin calling The Weeknd’s music “whack”, as TMZ footage showed recently.
“The brown boy and the Starboy on a track / Haters gonna say this sh*t is wack.”
If you had any doubt The Weeknd and Justin Bieber were feuding, doubt no more.
Of course, we realised this yesterday when the news broke that Justin fled Rihanna’s Grammys after party when he saw The Weeknd and Selena getting all handsy.
And then there was a couple of days before that when Biebs did an Instagram Live video and was bombarded with fan questions (obviously). One of the questions he decided to answer was what his favourite song of the moment is.
“Favourite song of the moment?” he said in the video. He paused. And then he said, “‘Starboy’ by The Weeknd.”
He then laughed for like 15 seconds non-stop, revealing it is definitely not his favourite song.
This diss track by The Weeknd takes the drama next level, though. Your move, Justin.
