More excellent news for coffee drinkers - your daily caffeine dose could cut down your risk of developing oral and throat cancer.
Researchers at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, found that regular coffee drinkers (that is, those who drank one or more cups per day) halved their risk of these cancers. What's more surprising is that the evidence included people already at high risk for these cancers - namely, those who drank alcohol and smoked.
Dr Toru Naganuma, who led the study, admitted the results were unexpected, but warned that cutting down on alcohol, and quitting the ciggies were the best ways to avoid cancer.
