Dating advice - from the heart
Review: Find Love, by Carolin Dahlman
It’s not very often you find a love self-help book that’s not written by a happily married couple or psychologist, so it was very refreshing to read Find Love and get some advice from someone who isn’t constantly comparing their oh-so-brilliant romantic adventures to your non-existent love life. On the other hand, it may also seem ironic that a single person would give advice on how to find that perfect person. But according to Carolin Dahlman, it’s so much more than just finding someone and being a couple. There are many factors that contribute to who we are attracted to and who we attract - and ultimately, it all comes down to you.
To find love, you have to at least like yourself. What you think and believe have a tendency to show through to the surface, and may in fact be a big part in why you may still be single, or why you attract the same partner each and every time. What Dahlman continually encourages through series of questions, queries, and exercises scattered through Find Love is to discover more about yourself – your thoughts, behaviours (while single, and also in a relationship), likes, dislikes, and how to project what you are after, keeping those dreams of the perfect partner alive in your mind, but also remembering to keep in all in perspective, otherwise there’s the potential for constant dissatisfaction.
Find Love is a twenty-first century guide for singles, and touches on a number of factors and situations singles across the globe come across every day in their search for love. An enlightening read.
