Question:
I'm keen to lose that sluggish feeling that I get every autumn. My diet is fairly healthy - but I'd like to feel more energised throughout the day. I've heard that detoxing is a surefire way to do this. Is there a safe way to detox?
Answer:
While the body has no scientific need to detox, many swear by cleansing their diet and using a detox as a reminder of all the fresh foods they need to feel and look their best. Try eliminating all caffeine (from tea, coffee and cola beverages) and all processed foods, including snacks, biscuits and fast food, and instead base your meals around fresh fruit, vegetables and lean proteins, including oily fish and grilled chicken, for a period of three to five days. Not only will your skin glow, you are also likely to get rid of a kilo or two of extra fluid and feel much lighter as a result.
