Almost as soon as the ink on their wedding certificate dried, it appears that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's wedding might be null and void.
Fear not - the loved-up couple aren't divorcing, but Californians passed a law on Tuesday banning gay marriage, leaving the state of Ellen and Portia's union in limbo.
Ellen, who wed Portia just three months after California legalised gay marriage, is devastated by the news.
"Barack Obama is our new President. Change is here. I, like millions of Americans, felt like we had taken a giant step toward equality.
"This morning, when it was clear that Proposition 8 had passed in California, I can't explain the feeling I had. I was saddened beyond belief."
