For those who love to shop the triggers that set off a spending frenzy are everywhere - 80% off signs dangling enticingly in store fronts, end of season sales lighting up shopping districts like wildfires and bargains galore advertised wherever you look. For some reason, whenever shoppers see a ‘SALE’ sign they start to lose control and start buying. Of course, summer sales are all about the bargains, but if you’re ending up at home with a bag of items that don’t fit in with the rest of your wardrobe and that don’t serve any specific purpose, then you’ve just committed one of the cardinal sins of summer sale shopping – buying what you don’t need and can’t use. If you’re going to launch an assault on the summer racks this season then it’s a good idea to ask yourself three things before making the purchase. #1 – Does it match what I own? Before you head over to the pay register with the steal of the century, stop and ask yourself if what you have matches with the rest of your wardrobe. The best pieces to buy on sale are classics that can easily merge with what you currently own. Look for clothes that are versatile and lend themselves to easily mixing and matching with what’s currently in your closet back home. #2 – Is it comfortable? If getting into that killer pair of skinny jeans requires you to put yourself through a routine of body contortions that would have the most limber of yoga masters shaking their heads in bewilderment, then it’s probably not a good idea to go through with the purchase. Sales tend to transform even the most well-intentioned shoppers into masters of self-deception. We delude ourselves time and again into arguing for the clothing’s limitations so that we end up at home with an ill-fitting item and a bad case of buyer’s remorse. When you try something on ask yourself – ‘Does it fit right? Does it feel good? Am I comfortable in this?’ If not, then forget it. #3 – Do I really need it or do I just want it? Ask anyone clutching a fistf...

    Ox Blood is Hot!
    11.47am, April 16th

Burgundy, or Ox Blood as they call it in the US, has to be THE hottest colour this Autumn/Winter season. Not only is it the primary colour, but my absolute fave to wear this wet season. Whether it is a top, jeans, scarf, cardigan, boots or even hair and nail colours, burgundy goes with most colour combos and suits all skin tones. It will also instantly add colour to an outfit that is predominantly oozing dark colors like blacks and greys. Just have fun with the colour and I can tell it will be a favourite amongst most of you come next Autumn/Winter season. :) xx

    Autumn must haves
    12.39pm, March 21st

For autumn every girl should have a leather item; shorts, jacket, leggings, skirt! Also a statement piece is always necessary. Checkerboard prints are already a hit thanks to Louis Viuttons' amazing designs.

    Pop of colour
    1.13pm, January 30th

Every girl should own at least one colourful, lightweight cardigan. It brightens up almost any outfit, and on those sunny days, can keep the sun off your shoulders whilst still not being heavy. It can dress-down a pretty dress, or fancy up a tee and pair of shorts. You can wear it with plain colours like white and grey and black, or match it with complimentary colours.

I have learned so much at http://www.cosmopolitan.com.au and getting a new look is sometimes as easy as finding new color combinations.

I'm not a tall girl thats for sure. At 165cm I'm of average height but generally shorter then my friends and have recently started dating guys who a significantly taller than me, I mean pushing the 2m mark and it kind of makes me feel like a 12 year old girl. I've never been big on high heels, especially during the day....until recently. I've always though the idea was a little crass. However since becoming hooked of Made In Chelsea, where the girls rock fur coats and louboutins I have come to realise that there isn't anything slutty about rocking a cute little wedge or a heeled boot. As long as you can walk and the occasions practical then heels before 5 are A-Okay ! You can dress up a pair of jeans and its awesome if you have to go from day to night and you don't have time for an outfit change

I always read stories about putting together outfits that can take you from desk-to-dinner, but with the holidays coming up, how can I go from beach-to-bar? How can I ensure I look relaxed while lounging on the beach, but then polished enough to head straight to, say, the Beach Hotel in Byron?

My girlfriends are always so confused about what to wear on day dates because it’s hard to look sexy I guess during the day time. But I think I have it figured out! This summer, I’ll be working a leather short and loose blouse with a block heel… but only if I really like the guy. Give it a whirl!
