After learning that my high school stint at McDonald’s wouldn’t get me a job at a mag, I worked as a freelance journalist for a few years. With much haggling and many annoying phone calls, I got a job at Cosmo! As web ed, no two days are the same – some days I’ll be at a video or photo shoot, others I’m interviewing celebs or updating myself on the latest goss (all for research purposes, obviously).

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, Cosmonauts! There's so much going on in our office at the moment, we can hardly wait for the weekend to begin.

Our editor, Bron, is off to France for a few weeks, and the fashion girls, Sarah and Nic, are headed to Biarritz for a shoot. Lucky bitches. But behind every breathtaking spread is a lot of boring paperwork. The girls have to number every piece of clothing, every shoe and every accessory they're taking to France for Customs. They were in the office til the wee hours on Wednesday night doing this - with the much-needed help of popcorn, coffee, jelly snakes and Diet Coke.

In other news, we're almost at the end of the first phase of voting in the Fun, Fearless Female Women of the Year Awards. This year is so exciting because we have two new categories - blogger and author. So get voting before it's too late!

And of course, our new issue is on sale on Monday. I know I'm biased, but I loved reading this issue. It's always exciting when Michelle brings around the new copies, and this time, I felt an extra little buzz. The fashion girls and I coordinated a shoot featuring some amazing Australian celebs dressed up as modern icons. It was a lot of fun to work on, and I think you'll enjoy seeing some of your favourite stars all dressed up!

Have a fabulous weekend, Cosmonauts!
