According to the French, Parisians are indeed rude
The French conducted a poll, earlier this month that interviewed 1000 French adults living outside of Paris, that highlighted the inhabitants of the nation’s capital as “snobbish” and “self-regarding.”
The political magazine Marianne labelled Parisians “hard working and cultivated,” in an editorial published along with the poll.
“But we consider them to be above all way too arrogant, aggressive, flirtatious, stressed, chauvinistic, snobbish, and self-regarding than other French people,” the magazine added.
Of those questioned, a whopping 70 per cent considered Parisians to be more snobbish than the rest of the country, while at least 65 per cent believed them to be more aggressive an arrogant than the rest of the French. At the same time, they believe these behaviours are justified as they are under more stress, work harder and have longer commutes, therefore the majority of the French questioned for the poll did not consider the Parisians’ traits as particularly negative. 68 per cent confirm that they actually have a “good opinion” of those living in the country’s capital.
