Nine ways to max your gym time
Let's face it: unless you're a Hollywood celeb, chances are, you don't have endless hours to while away at the gym every day. Your time is precious, so you've got to get the most out of your workout. Luckily, we've got nine tips to max your gym sessions.

1. Start with something you like. It'll motivate you to keep up the momentum for the rest of your session. -
2. Identify downtimes. Avoid rush hours (typically, between 7am and 8am, and 6pm and 7pm) and time your gym sessions for the least busy periods. -
3. Share a trainer with a friend. Trainers can be expensive, but by sharing the cost with a friend, you're getting an effective, cheap(ish) workout that'll totally max the time you have for working out. -
4. Check out a class before you sign up. If you like the look of yoga, but you're not sure it's for you, watch about five minutes of it (any longer and it just looks creepy) to see if it's something you;d enjoy. -
5. Compete with cardio. If you're on the treadmill, stationary bike or cross-trainer, look for someone working harder than you. Now, work harder than them. -
6. Break it down. If you hate lunges (but know they're awesome for your butt), break down your 20 reps into four sets of five, with a ten second break between sets. -
7. Use your rest time. If you have to wait for a machine or weights, do some squats, crunches or lunges to pass the time. -
8. If you've only got 20 or 30 minutes to spare, do some hardcore interval training. Warm up for three minutes, then run at maximum speed for one minute. Run at a moderate speed for the next two minutes, then hit maximum speed for one minute. Repeat, repeat, repeat. -
9. Finish at least three hours before bed, to ensure you're rested for the next day.
