Why you should be strength training
Weight training reduces body fat and will therefore improve your appearance. While weight training does not necessarily make you drop kilograms, it does replace a kilogram of fat with a kilogram of muscle which is smaller in mass, ensuring you look tighter, toned and more athletic than you did before. This is because muscle requires more energy to simply exist in your body and so it burns more calories. After an hour of lifting weights the average female will burn an extra 100 calories, which adds up when you count it weekly or monthly.
