There's a new Coca-Cola drink on the market which could be the healthiest Coke yet, according to The Independent.
Diet Coke fans, Coke Zero lovers, Coke life addicts - 'healthy' Coca-Cola Plus contains added fibre which could 'actively improve your health'. According to Coca-Cola, levels of fat absorbed from food could be significantly reduced if the drink is consumed while eating thanks to the added fibre it contains.
The calorie and sugar-free drink is going on sale in Japan in March this year, although was actually launched some years ago before being taken off the shelves for unknown reasons.
The Independent point out, however, that there might be a catch in this otherwise exciting tale. A review of the drink written by CNN when it was previously on sale seven years ago is hardly encouraging us to fly to Japan and buy in bulk...
They wrote: "Coca-Cola Plus Fiber is like drinking an ultra-sweet cola-flavoured jelly with a heavy dose of faux citrus and a biting carbonation.
"A remote high-five to anyone who can finish a whole bottle and eat another meal that day."
The particular quote "the gooiness sticks in your throat like milk" is enough to put you off for good.
That being said, seven years is quite a long time, so we'll reserve judgment for when the drink hits the shelves here and we can try it for ourselves.
