Sports Illustrated is full-force jumping on the body positive bandwagon. After including plus-size models Ashley Graham and Robyn Lawley last year, the mag has named its newest, curviest rookie ever, Hunter McGrady.
For the shoot, Hunter wore nothing but a couple layers of paint. She sprawls on the sand in a tie-die monokini that was literally painted on her oiled-up figure. And she looks sexy AF.
"This is a surreal moment for me," Hunter captioned one of the images on Instagram on Wednesday. "You guys I have been bursting to tell you all about this! I want to thank … everyone at @si_swimsuit for promoting that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Beauty is not a number. It has no limits. I have never felt sexier than I did in this shoot."
Hunter then went on to say that this is not only a win for her as a model and professional, but it's a signal to any lady who has ever felt insecure about themselves. "Women, for anyone who has ever felt uncomfortable or insecure because of rolls, or stretch marks, or cellulite, or acne, or felt like you didn't measure up because you weren't represented in the magazines — THIS IS FOR YOU!," she wrote. "You are beautiful. You are STRONG. You are powerful and together we need to lift each other up and inspire one another. there's too much going on [in] this world to let each other fall by the [way]side. … We did it ! 😜 #breakingboundaries."
Aside from Hunter, Sports Illustrated included three other curvy models among the pages of the new Swimsuit issue, on stands now: Ashley Graham, Robyn Lawley, and another newcomer, Myla Dalbesio.
