If you’re travelling, time poor or just feeling hyper from a late night sugar binge, you can find yourself ready to run, but with nowhere to go (unless running in the dark is appealing). Let’s face it, that level of energy doesn’t come around very frequently, so nothing can be more disappointing then having your workout mojo wasted. That’s why at Cosmo HQ , we’re super excited by the many workouts you can find online. Not only can you exercise at crazy hours if you wish, but if you’re travelling you can put your jet lag to use by bouncing around your hotel room. To help save you hours of Googling we’ve found you the best instructors and workouts online.
1. Blogilates
San Francisco-based pilates instructor Cassey Ho is an enthusiastic ball of energy. Her videos win points for being serious fun and offering challenging workouts that you can pick and mix according to your fitness level. The routines are short and made to be combined together for a total body workout. We especially love her Food Baby video and her Gangnam Style routine. The best part is her videos are FREE. Her pilates workouts coordinate moves to hit songs like Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble, so you can do a little karaoke too.
2. Bex Life
Rebekah “Bex” Borucki, a fitness and yoga instructor, began the site after moving back to her small town from New York. We love her fun workouts, which combine yoga and cardio. Plus her gorgeous country locations make us feel like we’re enjoying a city break too. Her workouts are free and like Cassey, she is part of Youtube’s Next Trainer program.
3. YogaGlo
Yogagglo’s monthly fee is around the cost of a casual yoga class (so it won’t break the bank). In exchange, you get unlimited access to yoga classes in a range of styles, levels and duration. Want two hours of power or a five minute recharge? Done! It’s a great option for travellers or wannabe yogis who can’t work normal class times into their schedule.
4. Bodyrock.tv
With kick-ass, lean mean bodies (that are just a little intimidating), Freddy, Lisa and Sean are the trio behind the Bodyrock.tv videos. With new workouts every week, this site is great for those who are prone to getting bored. They already have a large archive of videos to keep you going between updates. It’s also free.
5. iBodyFit
While you have access to a whole range of videos for free, you can also earn points towards receiving free fitness gear when you register. We love a freebie! You’ll need to purchase a membership to have access to <all> of the videos (over 500) and other classes, but you will find more than enough available for free. If you want a personal touch, you can also purchase custom workouts from a trainer. Plus, there are over 1,000 video demonstrations of different exercises. We can’t even think of 50!
If you’re ready to head online for your next heart-pumping workout, remember to make a schedule. Impromptu workouts are great, but making a routine is the fastest way to ensure you get moving regularly – even if they are pencilled in at 10pm!
