Help! I'm attracted to Gordon f*cking Ramsay!
Michelle gets cosy in the kitchen
We all know him — the temperamental chef who swears more than Amy Winehouse on a bender and strikes fear into chefs all over the world. But does this Scottish lad have sex appeal?
Confession time: I am a sucker for a bad boy. Forget Seth Cohen, I was totally up for Volchok from The OC (Marissa's bad-boy ex, who ended up killing her). Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Robbie Williams — I crushed on 'em all. (Disclaimer: there are some bad boys I don't get, namely, Pete Doherty and Kid Rock. So don't think too badly of me.)
Right, so we are all clear on what I mean by bad-boy attraction. I thought I knew too, until Tuesday night. While indulging in my new favourite show, I realised that I was attracted to the Kitchen Nightmares chef himself, Gordon Ramsay.
This came as a shock to me: what is it about this man that makes women swoon? Is it his tough, take-no-crap attitude? Is it his ability to strike fear into most rational human beings? Or is it a case of … power?
Think about it — power makes a man desirable and sexy. If you are the lady who catches the eye of a powerful fella, it's inevitable that you imagine that you could be the one to tame him. I bet that's what Carla Bruni thought when she married French President (and notorious womaniser) Nicolas Sarkozy.
Then something else came to me: animal attraction. Gordon is rather animalistic and brutal in his methods. This left me (rather dejectedly) thinking: how far have we come to still be impressed by a man who acts like a caveman?
Or is the attraction to Gordon much simpler than all this? Am I drawn to him because he tells it like it is? Or is it the fact that he could whip me up a chocolate soufflé faster than I can say "PMS"?
Either way, there is a new bad boy on the block and he is armed with a whisk, a feisty attitude and serious sex appeal!
