My boyfriend's mom kept referring to me and my family as 'you people'. I spoke to my b/friend about it and he defended her saying that was nothing. Then she bad mouthed me with him saying before long he'd come running back to her.
So I let him when he kept saying 'mom said you'd do this, mom said'...so and so.
Anyone so tied to his mom's apron strings is clearly not ready for a relationship.
He just satisfied her insecurities.

My husband's Mum is tha same. She treats me like crap, has no respect for me and is blatantly rude. I now refuse to visit their house and if she comes here, I leave or stay in my bedroom. If your boyfriend is worth it, stick it out I say. Don't let her get to you because it's your relationship with your boyfriend that is the most important thing at the end of the day.

As someone with ample experience with psychotic mothers, please allow me to reassure you, it's her - not you. When sons who live at home become old enough to do things without parent approval, some mothers respond by becoming incredibly insecure, and critical of the choices he makes. What you need to know is, how far will your boyfriend let her go? Obviously he will feel caught between the two of you, but unless he's going to defend you in front of her, it's time to pack up and run, baby!

my boyfriend's mum is really horrible to me. i can't work out exactly what i've done to make her dislike me, but she's really got it out for me. last week, she told alex, my boyfriend, that i'd 'better not be coming to christmas dinner' at their house. wtf??
