Hold on to your barrettes, ladies - Diablo Cody is writing a film adaptation of Sweet Valley High.

The Juno creator is in negotiations with Universal to adapt the iconic teen book series for the big screen - and we couldn't be more excited.

We can't wait to see which of the outrageous plotlines will make it to the script - Lila Fowler's marriage (to an Italian count), Margo the Single White Female-esque stalker who tries to steal Elizabeth's life, Regina Morrow dying of a drug overdose, or Claire Middleton's appointment as the school's star quarterback? And don't get us started on Enid Rollins, Todd Wilkins, Bruce Patman and Roger Collins, Elizabeth's English teacher, who was "the image of Robert Redford."

    EPIC WIN! I wonder if they'll convince Brittany and Cynthia Daniel (the twins on the TV series) to reprise their roles on the big screen.

    I really hope these twins will kind of look like Brittany and Cynthia because I think there looks was perfect for Jessica and Elizabeth. I just hope this time Lila has BROWN hair, not red hair like in the TV seriers. I hate it when they don't look like the characters discribed in the books. I'm hanging to see this movie! I really loved the books. I wish they could make the Sweet Valley books into adult novels.... perhaps in their 30's would be good!! LOL!!
