Question:
I don't know how to leave my old loves behind. I'm in a new relationship and have been for a while. Sometimes I feel like I don't want to be with my current partner, but other times I know that I do. I think about my ex-boyfriend quite a bit. What does this mean?
Answer:
You're not alone! I like to call it Syndrome Ex – when you've had strong feelings for someone that you really cared about, it's virtually impossible to EVER fully get over them, even if you have moved on to someone else. The best way to overcome those thoughts when you're with someone else is to focus your attention fully on your current relationship and to envelop yourself into it. Giving it your full attention is the only way to combat Syndrome Ex.
