Last night, my fiance, D, overheard someone saying, "Lady Gaga is just so unique. She is really one of a kind; she's like no one else."
Except, of course, she is. Actually, she's like EVERYONE else. Before her, there was Gwen Stefani. Before her, Cyndi Lauper. Madonna. Kate Bush. God, even David Bowie. They all made pop music, they all wore crazy outfits, they all filled the "freak" role in pop culture. Lady Gaga is just the next incarnation of an age old archetype.
But there's no denying she's captured our attention. The crazy dresses, the sour face, the hermaphrodite rumours, the utter strangeness of her make Lady Gaga a pretty interesting character for a lot of people. Personally, I don't really get it. I don't get the weird headpieces or the sad face she's always pulling or the overdramatised video clips. I realise I'm probably in the minority about this, so I want to hear why you guys love her.
Tell, tell!
