LC's line dropped

Lagging sales blamed for fashion label's failure

Lauren Conrad

Cult L.A. boutique Kitson has dropped Lauren Conrad’s fashion line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, due to “lacklustre” sales.

Fraser Ross, Kitson’s owner, said, “Initially it was great.” But Conrad’s reluctance to appear in-store to promote the line led to declining sales.

“They need to realise it’s no different than selling your album, your TV shows, your movies. You have to keep promoting it.”

The line debuted at Mercedes Benz L.A. Fashion Week in March 2008.
