Carrie Fisher fans are petitioning to make Princess Leia an official Disney Princess

WE'RE SO HERE FOR IT.

In the aftermath of losing Carrie Fisher, her fans are ready to take her legacy to the next level...

To the Disney level.

As you may or may not know, the Walt Disney Company own Star Wars aka the film franchise that made Carrie a household name. Since Princess Leia was a Princess and considering that her character inspired so many people around the world, her fans think it's only right to induct Leia as an official Disney Princess.

More than 25,000 people have already signed a Change.org petition to make Leia an official Disney Princess.

"After the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher, we feel that it is only fitting for Disney to do away with the rule that an official Disney princess must be animated and make Leia a full-fledged princess", the petition reads.

"What we are asking is that the Walt Disney Corporation hold a full ceremony inducting Leia as the newest Disney princess as well as a special service in memory of Carrie Fisher."

Following her passing, company chairman and CEO Bob Iger even paid tribute to the icon:

Considering that Disney is getting more progressive about it's Princess squad, we think now would be the perfect time to induct the kick-ass galactic Kween into the squad.
