You know that Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life revival that you had in your calendar for months in advance with a gazillion alarms set so you didn’t miss it?
Of course you do.
Well, turns out one of the main stars of the revival, Lauren Graham, was not as excited to watch the four-part series. In fact, she still hasn’t watched it… and might NEVER.
Which had us like:
Now before you start swearing profanities at your screen ‘cause you feel so damn hurt/confused/dead inside, you need to hear her reason.
In an interview with 92nd Street Y talk Lauren explained why she didn’t tune into Netflix on December X with the rest of the world and we want answers.
"There are many actors who learn a lot by watching themselves. I'm not one of those people, so I stayed away from it," Entertainment Weekly reports.
But wait, there’s more.
Lauren goes on to say that she loved the whole reunion SO much she couldn’t bring herself to watch the episodes (presumably in fear that it would override her incred memories from filming).
"I was so on another plane, it felt like, during the doing of the thing, and I had some of my favourite moments I've ever had as an actor and as a person in that experience," she said. "I just want to leave it there for now — that was enough. That was more than enough. It was the best experience I've ever had."
Okay, fair enough. All is forgiven.
Lauren also went on to say that she nearly couldn’t bring herself to finish reading the script as it was all so emosh.
“I almost didn't want to know how it ended. I was worried where it was going and what if I'm disappointed. But finally I had to do it, 'cause I really had to film it, and I sat at the kitchen table and I cried from page one all the way to the end. It was the biggest emotional experience."
Far from being detached from the GG reunion, turns out Lauren was right there riding emotional roller-coaster along with the rest of us. Except she was sitting on the front seat.
