Anyone who saw the final episode for The Vampire Diaries knows that it was a seriously emosh time. With characters dying, getting married and reuniting (SOB), we truly didn't think it could get any more intense and emotional, but APPARENTLY we were wrong.
According to Kevin Williams, TVD's executive producer, there was a scene where Damon proposed to Elena, but it was cut due to time constraints.
Kevin told TVGuide that the scene was filmed to show that Elena went to medical school, but they decided just to put her in scrubs in the final scene where she's sitting at Stefan's grave to show that.
(And considering we saw Elena rocking some serious bling — an engagement ring and a wedding ring — we think it's safe to say that they did indeed get hitched.)
“We actually had a moment, which we didn’t have time for — everything got cut,” Kevin said. “I think the first cut came in 18 minutes over. And there was a moment in the show where he proposed and she responded after medical school. And the whole point of that moment was just to show that she became a doctor. And so we thought, ‘Oh, we’ll just put her in scrubs and we can cut that piece.'”
UMMMM, they better be putting that baby in the deleted scenes extras on the DVD, or else...
