Memo to Kate: We're just not that into you
Kate gets dumped again
Kate Moss has been dumped as the face of British lingerie label Agent Provocateur for a model 14 years her junior.
It's the third time this year that Moss has been pipped by other models. 22-year-old former fish-and-chip shop worker Agyness Deyn has replaced Ms Moss at iconic label Burberry, and glamazon Naomi Campbell took Kate's appointment at French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent.
The new face of the raunchy lingerie house is 20-year-old Alice Dellal, a virtual unknown. Best known for her punky, no-holds-barred attitude, Alice sports a nose ring and has shaved half of her head. Touted as a neo-Jerry Hall, she was named among handbag.com's 2007 It girls.
Of course, it's not the first time Kate has lost three contracts almost simultaneously. In 2005, following her infamous "Cocaine Kate" scandal, she was dropped by Swedish retailer H&M, Burberry and Chanel. It was around this time, too, that she lost her boyfriend, Pete Doherty, to the model she discovered, Irina Lazareneau.
It's worth remembering, though, that at the beginning of Moss's own 20-year-career, she was the model stealing everybody's crowns. Kate's waifish look contrasted strongly to the reigning tall and curvaceous supermodels of the day. And as they say, what goes around, comes around.
