Why you are 20 per cent more beautiful than you think
Medical experts reveal a new beauty prescription
Many women are insecure about their looks, but research has revealed that others actually find you 20 per cent more attractive that you actually see yourself. And no, we aren't talking about beer goggles here! Most people judge themselves purely on their appearance, without factoring in the effect their personality has - and that's where our true beauty lies, according to the experts.
Beauty and mind experts, Dr Debra Luftman and Dr Eva Ritvo have revealed the secrets to tapping that extra 20 per cent in their new book, The Beauty Prescription - The Complete Formula For Looking And Feeling Beautiful (Mcgraw-Hill). The main message? Realising that your physical appearance is only one part of what makes you attractive to others.
They believe that by taking into account inner beauty, health, outer beauty and environment - women will be on their way to finally feeling as attractive as the rest of the world finds them. Well, if focusing on doing things that make you happy (inner beauty), keeping in shape and eating well (health), taking time out to get your nails and hair done (outer beauty), and surrounding yourself with good friends (environment) is a prescription for beauty - we sure can't disagree with that!
