Bridal Party:
“My husband’s two eldest sons were ushers and led the guests into the church. His youngest son was ring bearer, and led the bridal party. We also had four bridesmaids, four groomsmen and three flower girls.”
Bridesmaids’ Dresses:
“Pale-pink, one-shoulder, silk dresses with a chiffon overlay. The flower girls wore pale-pink chiffon dresses.”
Invitations:
“Our invitations were made of thick, cream card and featured silver script to match the envelopes.”
The Ceremony:
“It was a lovely, traditional Anglican ceremony. Our florist made paper cones filled with rose petals that she placed at the entrance to the church for guests to throw after the service.”
Decorations:
“The reception setting was just beautiful! Our tables were adorned with candles and floral arrangements of cream roses and sweet peas. In the centre of each table stood a large vase holding long branches of blossoms.”
Entertainment:
“We had a live jazz band.”
Favours:
“My sister, Juliet, put together little boxes containing heart-shaped chocolates and tied with ribbon. We attached tags with our names and wedding date.”
Transport:
“I rode in a 1950 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn; the bridal party had black and silver 1950 Bentley MK6 sedans.”
