My fashion life began at the age of 16 when I was extremely frustrated at high school and eager to get my teeth into the world of fashion design. After persuading my parents to let me leave school, I was accepted into the East Sydney Advanced Diploma of Fashion Design. After many tears, and with no money, I completed the course and decided to try my luck at styling. I got myself some work experience at Cosmo. I have now been chained to my Cosmo desk for 4 years, including some work at Cosmo Brides mag. My working day involves keeping a close eye on the hottest trends straight from the catwalks, and knowing about new celeb trends to hit chain stores.I see heaps of new ranges as they appear, and go to as many functions and parties as possible. I work with plenty of Uber-creative photographers, models, and hair and make-up artists, and am constantly inspired by the ever-changing face of fashion! My favourite shoot moment? Dancing to "Wuthering Heights" in between takes. My fashion weakness? Net-a-Porter.com on pay days.

On location

At this time of year, the Cosmo fashion team normally goes away on a trip somewhere beautiful and exotic to shoot the holiday season fashion stories. This time round, we are going to a couple of different local places –– as in, in Australia! Nicole and Lotta are going to the north-west of Australia and I am going up the east coast.

While these trips are super exciting, they can sometimes be stressful: getting hotrod models who fit your desired travel dates; choosing a talented photographer and magical hair/make-up team who you want to have around for the whole time; and getting the accommodation to work out. Other major factors are budgets (eugh!) and weather. These are all playing on my mind at the moment as I am about to embark on a three-day, three-story trip up the coast (that's right; no spare days if Mother Earth decides to send rain upon me!) as a solo Cosmo rep.

Yesterday, my editor left for a Russian holiday, so I nicked her for a moment to have my stories approved before she left. Now that my outfits are happening, I am three-quarters ready to go … but there's still loads to be done. This time next week I will be blogging about my escapades and may even have some happy snaps for you! Pray to the weather gods that the rain holds out for me next week!
