One night in paradise?
Research shows women 'regret' one-night stands
Sex and the City might have glamorised sexual freedom and our right to shag anyone, anywhere, anytime, but new British research shows that women don't actually want one-night stands.
Professor Anne Campbell at the University of Durham, where the research was conducted, claimed that almost half of the women interviewed for the study said they felt 'regret' after a one-night stand.
Almost 1800 men and women were interviewed for the study, and were asked to rate it as a positive or negative experience.
While 80 per cent of men felt happy about their bumps in the night, only 54 per cent of women agreed.
The researchers concluded that generally, women are not well-adapted to casual relationships.
Says Professor Campbell, "What the women seemed to object to was not the briefness of the encounter but the fact that the man did not seem to appreciate her. The woman thought this lack of gratitude implied that she did this with anybody."
