Facebook gets a makeover
It just got a helluva lot easier to cyberstalk your friends, thanks to the new look Facebook.
The social networking site, with over 80 million registered users worldwide, has received its first extreme makeover since launching in 2004.
Designed to make the site less cluttered, the changes will begin to appear this week. Responding to criticism that the proliferation of applications has made the pages more difficult to navigate, the new site will group all applications under a single tab, named "Publisher." Personal information that doesn't change often has been moved to a less visible area.
But perhaps most importantly, you can keep up with your friends activities more easily, with all updates now grouped centrally. What's more, you'll also have more control over your newsfeed, meaning you can hide, lengthen or shorten stories on a whim.
The makeover comes just one month after MySpace revealed its new layout. The Facebook redesign is intended to be more appealing to both users and advertisers. Last year, the company netted $150 million in sales - a figure they're attempting to double this year.
