Thank you for your response about your treatment for PCOS. I think I might look into going on Diaformin it seems that a vast majority of women with PCOS are on this and it has managed the symptoms along with a low gi diet. I have also looked at the sharkeys healing centre website and it is very interesting thank you. I am originally from the Gold Coast and use to hear Ruth Shakey on the radio and she had very positive results. I have been told that PCOS can be treated (not cured)cont...

Hi again, have only been on the Daiformin for 3 months and yes, its the same thing is Metformin, just a cheaper brand. If you are interested in going "natural" google sharkeys healing centre... they actually specialise in fertility. They have heaps of testimonials on the site, and you can order online. (they are in QLD) Something to consider anyways....

Hi just wondering how long have you been on Diaformin for? and is it the same as metformin?
I'm in the same boat as you and I am not overweight and I am trying to conceive but have not been offered much in the way of treatment other then Letrozole which I didnt respond to. I am also interested in natural fertility. It is a very debatable subject about giving thin women diabetic drugs but I'm all for whatever helps.

I am not overweight, but still continue to be on Diaformin (diabetic meds) eat Low gi food and try to excersise lots. I also am taking a herbal formulation prescribed by a natural fertility clinic in QLD called "Sharkeys Healing Centre". Gyno is encouraging my husband and I to do IVF but unsure as it feels everyone around us is saying dont worry your still young etc

Hi its me again from last post as I was saying I am moving to Sydney in December. I am currently living in country Queensland so I have noticed that there is a lot more options for doctors in Sydney. I am interested in seeing a doctor that specialises in PCOS who treats other women with the same condition who has the knowledge and time to talk about treatment?

Thank you for your reply that there is still hope out there for women with PCOS who are trying to fall pregnant. I have been to a fertility clinic for about a year receiving no answers or knowledge about this problem that it can be treated but nothing has been done. I do not ovulate on my own and have been on provera to start period and Letrozole. I had a scan done after taking these and there were no signs of folicles being large enough for AIH. I am moving to Syney in December.
