Scientists have determined the average penis size

Wipe any porn penises from your memory, because a girthy new study has revealed the “normal” size of male genitalia, and we’re not really sure what to make of it.

The study involved 15,000 men aged 17-91 from the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. 15,000 penises later, researchers came up with this:

When ERECT: 13.12 centimetres with a circumference of 11.68 centimetres

When FLACCID: 9.31 centimetres with a circumference of 9.39 centimetres

(Feel free to reach for a ruler.)

According to The Guardian, this is the first study to consider both length and girth in its final graph. It also revealed that 2.28 percent of the population have an abnormally large or small penis.

The research seems to disprove the longstanding theory of correlation between penis and shoe size. The only potential oversight was that participants were all volunteers, so the results might be geared towards cockier (sorry!) men.

Oh, to have been a fly on the wall.
