Ho ho ho: Sex helps reduce stress
If you're skipping the mistletoe this Christmas and jumping straight into the sack… you're not alone. A recent study has revealed that 77 per cent of Australians relieve their festive frustrations by getting jolly with it in the bedroom.
According to the Bupa Stress Study 2011, many find Christmas not
only a time of joy, but also a time of stress - with Christmas
presents to be bought, entertaining to be done and work to be
finished. So how best to relieve the pressure? Apparently the
stress-busting benefits of sex help with mounting anxiety. Not
surprisingly 81 per cent are advocates of this trend… and 73 per
cent of women around the country also agree.
So what does sex have to do with stress? According to Bupa's Head
of Clinical Advisory, Dr Stan Goldstein, "Sex can provide health
benefits including increased levels of endorphins, which help to
reduce feelings of stress."
So swap presents under the tree to under the sheets this holiday
season. Question is: have you been naughty or nice?
