Nothing says summer like rockin' tunes and a tall, cool drink. Jane Rocca knows this - which is why she wrote Cocktails and Rock Tales - a new collection of music-themed cocktails. There are over 200 in the book, but we reckon these five are winners.

Rockaway Beach
Highball Glass

30 ml blackcurrant-infused vodka
30 ml lychee liqueur
Splash of sparkling pink grapefruit juice
3 lime wedges
Fresh lychee to garnish

Build liquids in highball glass on ice. Squeeze3 in lime wedges then discard them. Garnish with lychee.

Lava Lamp Martini
Martini Glass

30 ml raspberry liqueur
30 ml honey
60 ml vodka

Mix the honey and raspberry liqueur in a shot glass and then pour into shaker with vodka. Shake and strain into martini glass.

Old Tom
Martini Glass

5cm piece cucumber, roughly chopped
60 ml gin
30 ml pink grapefruit juice
15 ml elderflower cordial
15 ml lemon juice
15 ml pear nectar
4 slices of cucumber to garnish

Muddle cucumber in shaker. Add all remaining ingredients except for garnish and shake with ice. Strain into martini glass and garnish with slices of cucumber.

Lemon Meringue Pie
Martini glass

30 ml citrus-infused vodka
30 ml vanilla-infused vodka
15 ml limoncello
2 teaspoons lemon curd
30 ml cream
5 ml cinnamon-infused sugar syrup
Baby meringue to garnish

Combine all ingredients except for garnish in shaker and stir to dissolve lemon curd. Add ice and shake. Double-strain into martini glass and float baby meringue to garnish.

Material Girl
Martini Glass

3 strawberries
2 lime wedges
30 ml vanilla-infused vodka
20 ml Frangelico
10 ml black raspberry liqueur
30 ml pear juice
Mixed berries to garnish

Muddle strawberries in shaker, then add lime and muddle again. Add liquids and shake well with ice. Double-strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with mixed berries on a skewer.
