At school, I decorated my folders with pics from fashion mags and Dolly was my bible — that's when my love affair with fashion began. At uni, I interned at Elle magazine for a year and then did a stint in fashion buying and designing childrenswear. Before I came to Cosmo I climbed the ranks at Cleo and Dolly, in various roles. As for life outside work, it's all about holidays, surfing, yoga, dancing and music festivals!

Swim Fashion Week

How bizarre is it that we’re only just hitting the hottest days of summer 09 and we’re already previewing what we’ll be wearing in summer 09/10. For the first time ever, swimwear had its own event. Swim Fashion Week @ Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast was held last week and I was lucky enough to be able to attend. The fashion crew swanned around the poolside bar, lagoon and cabana style designer pavilions by day and viewed catwalk shows from designers such as Zimmermann, Hotel Bondi Swim, Seventh Wonderland, Ed Hardy and Watersun all afternoon. Usually you’d see all the fashion peeps wearing all black, designer heels and carrying oversize handbags so it was almost priceless to see some of the fashion crew sitting in the front row with wet hair, shorts and havaianas. That’s how chilled the shows were – I felt like I was on holidays – this is definitely the new way to work! So what will you covet from the ranges?

One piece swimsuits have made a huge comeback. On the catwalk it was a 50:50 ratio of one pieces and bikinis. Frills on pants, triangle tops and even off the shoulder one pieces reigned supreme, 60s polka dots and stripes ruled the prints, with pretty florals and interesting tribal prints also being a hit, multi-block panelling in bright shades made me return to the 80s for a minute and plunge necklines seemed so much fresher than last seasons cut-away swimsuits. My pick: I loved the interesting prints and way the headscarves were tied on models at the Anna & Boy show, the one shoulder one piece at Zimmermann , the heart print tie-dye at Sol Bellow and the best newcomer was Inikib (it's bikini spelt backwards).
