Well, ladies, I've found it. The Dress - My Dress - exists.
My Mum and I went shopping in Sydney's unofficial bridal district last Saturday, and after what seemed like a not-so-promising beginning, I found The Dress. It fits perfectly, is absolutely stunning and makes me feel like Grace Kelly/Betty Draper. What's more, my dear Mum cried when I tried it on. When I went back to try it on a second time, she cried...again. I see this as a sign that I definitely must get The Dress. And so it's decided.
Naturally, though, the dress is way over my initial budget (and, to be frank, my adjusted budget upon seeing the actual prices of wedding dresses). I consulted my bride-to-be friend Cindy on this matter, who said that I could spend what I wanted on my big day, and also offered this advice: "If you buy a dress that's $1000 cheaper, you'll save $1000. But will it be The Dress? You don't want to spend your wedding day wishing you'd just gone for it." Which was totally the right thing to say. Thank you, Cindy.
Tell me, brides, did you have that moment when you tried on The Dress, when you just knew it was The One? I want to hear all about it!
