The Perfect Cosmo

As Cosmo girls, we're partial to our cocktail namesake - the Cosmopolitan. Refreshing? Yep. Prettily pink? Sure. Seriously glam? But of course!

The Cosmo was born in the 1970s - and surprisingly, it wasn't served to Manhattanites first! In fact, the Cosmo is a Midwestern invention (seriously) that made its way to San Francisco and then New York City. Now, the iconic cocktail is forever associated with the Sex and the City girls (who can forget Carrie's plaintive drive-thru order at a regional fast food restaurant: "Cheeseburger, large fries and a Cosmopolitan, please!") and to celebrate the launch of Sex and the City: The Movie, here's our tried-and-tested, sipped-and-loved Cosmo recipe.

Glass: Martini

Ingredients:
• 1.5 standard shots of vodka
• 2.5 standard shots of cranberry juice
• .5 standard shot of Cointreau
• .5 standard shot of lime juice
• 1 teaspoon of caster sugar
• Ice

Method:
Blend all ingredients together, shake and strain into a chilled Martini glass.

What does the world require from us? And what do we want from this world? We want to love and be loved but what is love? When I want to spend time with someone, I like talking to them, cuddling with them and I dream about showering with them. Would this qualify as the start of love? or is it just another starvation for company and affection? Can we mistake love for just the need to feel wanted?  Report thisReport this
