After learning that my high school stint at McDonald’s wouldn’t get me a job at a mag, I worked as a freelance journalist for a few years. With much haggling and many annoying phone calls, I got a job at Cosmo! As web ed, no two days are the same – some days I’ll be at a video or photo shoot, others I’m interviewing celebs or updating myself on the latest goss (all for research purposes, obviously).
Apart from that, I have a healthy addiction to cupcakes, clutches and Christian Bale. I once watched a VH1 countdown of ‘The 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever’ and was proud to announce that I loved every last one of them. I’m very good at tripping over, talking too loud and saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Oh … and in an acrostic poem that my friends wrote about me, the “e” in my name stood for “embarrassing.”

Today in gossip
Cosmo HQ is abuzz with activity
It's a flurry of activity in here. Our freebie table (conveniently located right next to my desk) is laden with the spoils of Leigh's beauty cupboard cleanout, fashion editor Nic is making her TV debut on Mornings with Kerri-Anne, we're just about to shoot all of our Fun, Fearless Female finalists, and we're racing to our August deadline. Phew!
But we have had time to grab our coffees and get acquainted with the morning's gossip. Here's the best of it for you:
LA lady no more
Britney's dad Jamie (who's handling family affairs in California now that mum Lynne has moved back to Louisiana to be with preggers Jamie-Lynn) is set to sell the popwreck's Studio City home. Latest reports claim that Brits intends to move away from LA, to some place quieter. I can see the resulting reality show now - Britney: Home on the Range.
Dad's the word
Benji Madden claims he's "considering fatherhood." He and twin Joel (who recently became dad to Harlow) appeared on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show on Tuesday to talk about their Soundtrack of Summer Tour. It's clear that their relationships are much hotter property than their music, though, as talk quickly turned to their gal pals Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton. Says Benji, "I've never been so happy. Nothing worries me in life anymore." Mmmm...don't relax too much, Benji - you might find yourself starring in a sex tape soon.
Doomed by Ink
Heidi Klum got inked over the weekend, and is now sporting a tatt bearing Seal's name. Sigh. Nothing says "impending break-up" like the permanence of ink.
