If you want to drink less

If you're keen to cut down on boozing, turn your stereo down!

French researchers have found that customers of bars that play loud music drink more and in fewer gulps. The experts, who published their results in Alcohol: Clinical and Experimental Research, claimed that loud music caused drinkers to down their drinks three minutes faster than normal.

Though the exact reason for the quicker consumption isn't clear, the scientists speculated that the loud music could make conversation more difficult, urging people to drink more.
